Interesting speculation: if Montenegro starts receiving large quantities of NATO arms, what stops a CIA controlled organized crime syndicate from paying a corrupt Montenegrin official to sell these arms to them (in US dollars, of course), who in turn will smuggle them (through Montenegro) to CIA controlled militant subversion organizations inside Bosnia and beyond ? As Montenegro will now be under NATO control in this scenario, it wouldn't be too hard to cook the books and cover up any missing weapons. Hopefully this will never happen. Expect to see an uptick in violent activities between Montenegrin organized crime groups as the CIA will try to get control over these actors. They will either use Montenegrin security forces or rival crime groups to suppress the Montenegrin crime groups who I don't want to work with the CIA.

From a previous commentator: "With what are the Bosniaks going to fight with? bows and arrows? Bosnia is disarmed."

That is why you are hearing menacing stories about (CIA facilitated) ISIS build up in Bosnia and nothing is being done. Roosevelt stated carry a big stick, yet nowadays the State Department prefers to carry poisoned daggers. I am sure the CIA controlled regional black market networks can help the Boniaks quickly re-arm.

Perhaps you should read your postings about what you have and not have mentioned before posting.
The removal of Dodik wether by the ballot box or other will not change the situation regarding employment in Bosnia. Slovenia cannot attract industry because its too small an economy so what chance would Bosnia have?
The official US unemployment level is 4.9%, but even Trump laughs at that one. The EU would not continue to print money if all was well in paradise. Please open your eyes and don’t rely on everything that governments tell you. The EU is creating debt by printing money and the more they print the harder it is to get out of the recession or as the economist would say, unproductive debt limits growth. The US is starting to find that out now.
Not sure where you looked but since you were a policy analyst with the High Rep that office has/had a copy of the Dayton Accord. There is nothing on the net, but I know there are copies in Banja Luka and Belgrade. The UK’s Lord David Owen was interviewed in depth on the Accord after it was signed and he stated that there was a clause to secession after 5 years. As a matter of fact every Constitution in the world has a section or chapter dedicated to secession.

LO, did you come up with these thoughts quickly or was it an overnight process? Who is going to fight and with what? Bosnia? With what are the Bosniaks going to fight with? bows and arrows? Bosnia is disarmed. Croatia, well they can barely put two shekels together to pay for 600 professional soldiers they have. The 5 used scout helicopters are nothing better sightseeing vehicles. Their air force uses 1950s technology and now they have decided to return military service, but for one month only. Croatian military bases are closed during December to February cause there is not enough money.
Kosovars, please don’t make me laugh. With what? Serbia can burn everything and everyone to ashes before one Serb soldier sets foot in there.
Oh I know you are relying on NATO. Like all good cowards and bullies they have to have someone holding you down while they beat you. Perhaps you might read about how NATO intends to halt the Russians with 4,000 troops plus the famous 300 US Marine in Norway. NATO is finished although Im sad since they do serve brilliant Chardonnays and Sauvignon Bloncs at their banquets.
Perhaps Albania will help Kosovars? Personally, I’ve never seem mounted donkey brigades.

SJ: 1) I made no mention of corruption or of Dodik's wealth so whilst what you say about Izetbegovic may be true, what's that got to do with my comment? 2) I made no mention of the removal of Dodik, other than through the ballot box 3) The EU unemployment rate is at its lowest since 2009 so whilst jobs made not have been created in large numbers they are not being lost. With unemployment in Bosnia at over 40% it is important that jobs are created rather than simply not lost. 4)Are you able to post a link that shows the wording of the clause in the Dayton Accords that allows the referendum to which you refer?; I cannot find it?

The west constantly talks about Dodik’s corruption and wealth but never mentions that Izetbegovic is now worth over $120 million nor do they ever criticizes him. If they do it’s always behind closed doors. For information Bakir’s latest antics of seeking to remove the name RS through the court was stopped by the west as that played right into Dodik’s hands.
How do you think the economy is going to improve in Bosnia with the removal of Dodik? They can remove 100 Dodiks and nothing will improve. When the EU is in a recession and it was supposed to stop its quantitative easing program in March 2017, but are now extending it to December, what does that tell you?
Which western leader is “creating jobs and prosperity”? Not one. These are typical policy weasel words that are meaningless.
The US is economy is nearing 18 trillion but its not due to production but paper money. Its economy has stalled. The west is floundering and the only economies growing are in Asia.
On the issue of Kosovo and RS. In the Dayton agreement there is a clause which states that if after 5 years the Serbs can hold a referendum and leave. There is nothing like that where Kosovo is concerned. Thus Serbia can recognise RS.
Trump is destroying the IC united stance on anything. Donlad Tusk has declared the US as an enemy along with China, Russia and ISIS. I don’t see any improvement to any economies of the former Yugoslav republics so how could Bosnia do better?

Whilst I don't for a minute believe that Dodik behaves remotely like a President focused on the needs of his people, as opposed to his own enrichment, this action combined with the US sanctions demonstrates how toothless the High Rep is. He has the power to sanction Dodik for activities that are considered to be anti Dayton and yet he has done nothing and left it to others to do his dirty work for him.

I'm not sure that I agree with the martyrdom angle. There is a whole raft of problems affecting the everyday lives of people in the RS but very little being done, at least by Dodik and the political class. If he was creating jobs and prosperity the public would almost certainly rally to his defence. However, far from this being the case they are likely to be looking elsewhere at the 2018 election. Dodik will continue to attempt to mask his failures by banging on about independence but will run into a brick wall in Serbia where the prospect of having to accept Kosovo independence in order to defend MD's actions will be unpalatable. The IC are, to an extent, playing in to Dodik's hands but, as was said across the Atlantic many years ago, "it's the economy stupid". Proud people that Serbs are, pride and patriotism do not put food on the table or pay the bills.

I dont like to use the term, but the EU behave like a bunch of teenage school girls. Its very similar to the behavior of western leaders towards Putin at the G20 meeting in 2014 in Australia. We had Obama, David Cameron, Stephen Harper and Tony Abbott walking in a group much like you see in high school where the super cool girls act and ignore the lesser beings.

Once again we see the same thing. The so called sanctions against Dodik are laughable since they do not affect him or his family. There is an illness in the west that has driven these people to believe that if they deprive you of their company you will wither away to nothing. The only word that come to mind is pathetic.

Well Im glad they have done that becasue the referendum will occur sooner rather than later. The incompetent western clowns have done the unthinkable and are creating a martyr out of Milorad Dodik who will be seen just that as Serbs will see him as suffering for his people.

Thanks for the speedy demise of BiH.

Thanks for the clarification. Dirty work by the self-titled "IC" whether directed by the their HR, CC judges, ambassadors or lower level accomplices is still a root cause of the problem.

Personally, I’ve never seem mounted donkey brigades.

this action combined with the US sanctions demonstrates how toothless the High Rep is. He has the power to sanction Dodik for activities that are considered to be anti Dayton and yet he has done nothing and left it to others to do his dirty work for him.

The disintegration of a multi-ethnic Yugoslavia was wrong. A quarter century later, you and the rest of the rotten lot labeled as the "IC" openly offer us only more "dirty work".

Ned, the last thing we need is more foreign "dirty work". Unelected foreigners who've entitled themselves with positions of political, judicial and military authority are offensive to a democratic society. The "dirty work" of the IC hypocrites is the root of the problem and certainly not the solution.

SJ,
As usual, your thoughts are fragmented. You, simply, are grasping at straws. Pathetic!

And this comes from a person who believes that the wealth of the US includes the Apple Corporation. Brilliant!!!!
