"Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said that the case of former KLA commander Ramush Haradinaj represents "a test for Europe.""

Ivica is really clueless on how extradition requests work! The case of former KLA commander Ramush Haradinaj represents a test for Serbia's prosecutors to show the strength of their arguments/evidence against Ramush.

"According to him, Serbia has never contested the need for all those who committed war crimes, regardless of their nationality, to be held accountable - "but only Serbs are being declared responsible.""

Not sure who (other than Ivica) has declared Serbs responsible for any crime. It's really weird that Ivica wants to generalise the crimes committed by some criminals as crimes committed by the Serb people!!!

On the subject of respecting arrest warrants, aren't there three SRS members who Serbia hasn't put before a court for extradition who are wanted in the Hague? An arrest warrant is "respected" when a person is arrested, thereafter, as I have previously mentioned on B92, it is a matter for the courts. I do not know whether Mr Dacic interferes in the processes of the Serbian judiciary but in France the judges are typically 'French' and won't be told what to do by anyone. So, this is very much NOT a test for Europe, it is solely a matter for the French courts.

"If political decisions are to be more important than whether someone is a war criminal or not, the question is whether punishing war crimes is the goal for which Europe stands, or whether this applies only to Serbs," said the minister, who, Tanjug said, started the tour of the memorial room "symbolically, at 12:44 hours."

According to him, Serbia has never contested the need for all those who committed war crimes, regardless of their nationality, to be held accountable - "but only Serbs are being declared responsible."

"The crimes against Serbs have effectively been excused. The fact that there have been no Albanians convicted by the Hague Tribunal and that witnesses against Albanian terrorists have been killed, that various countries do not respect (Serbian) arrest warrants, says that there are still double standards, and that the right of someone to kill Serbs is being legalized," said Dacic.

-- Serbia still has a terrorist and war criminal as head of its army, yet I don't see them issuing an interpol arrest warrant. Serbia didn't issue an interpol arrest warrant against Milosevic, but it did issue one against Albright. Also as a Milosevic's stooge, you should be behind bars not a foreign affairs Minister. It's as if Germany had made Goebbels it's foreign affairs Minister after the war. You're in no position to dictate tests.
