Well, our dear friend Watcher said "any common citizen of former YU", so that includes Croats and Slovenes. So, I just did what Watcher suggested. But if the CE of B92 forums sj orders Watcher to exclude Croats and Slovenes, I'll be more than happy to do a new survey that satisfies the requirements of the CE of B92 forums sj.

Why is it ok to celebrate Jan 9th?

Aug 5th = Jan 9th

The authors of the two books I mentioned actually do cover the issue of how the Brits viewed Washington as a war criminal. Its amazing what an education can do for you. The term war criminal is relatively new so it would not have been mentioned in that form in the 1770s, but according to all criteria yes he was considered to be a war criminal since he attacked property and officials of the British Crown. In 1775, the English issued a proclamation declaring anyone who sided with the revolutionaries would be considered as traitors to the Crown who would face confiscation of property and imprisonment while the leaders were to be “executed on the scaffold”.
References: George Washington, a biography by John Arden and Crucible of War: The Seven Years' War and the Fate of Empire in British North America, 1754–1766 by Frederick Anderson.
Both cite the issue of George Washington as a war criminal from the British point of view.

Republika Srspka needs to be independent (including Eastern Brcko District) because RS cannot share anymore anything with a dangerous muslim-bosniak entity that flirts everyday with Daesh and a dangerous croatian entity that flirts everyday with Hitler's Reich. In former Yugoslavia, with few exceptions, we can see those who really fought the Ottomans, those who really fought the Nazis, those who really fought the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Those who really fought Evil like nobody has did in the entire world. The people with the deepest values in the history of the planet: Serbs.
They became demons in 90s on false accusations and because West decided to stand with Nazis (Germany, Austria, EU) and islamists (USA, NATO), because they were useful then. It was not acceptable by West that a Socialist country could have better lifestyle than many capitalist countries. Highest salaries, excellent welfare, healthcare, schools, etc. An industrial country that has been destroyed because it was a bad example for the international community. Republika Srpska voted to remain Yugoslavia, fought for Yugoslavia against mujahideens and nazis in Bosnia Hercegovina. Republika Srpska needs to protect itself with a wall against those criminals. And RS needs to protect itself from Vucic's Republic of Serbia too. Because the dictator in Belgrade is selling the soul of Serbia to the same actors who wanted it to be destroyed. Živela Republika Srpska!!!

All of those who did not want to work and kept quiet and enjoyed living off what Communism gave them wanted YU to continue.

If you had no connections or wanted to have some free speech, freedom to travel where and when you wanted then you were glad YU broke up.

Those who wanted to work and were able to change their way of thinking were able to succeed in the new system, those who didn't want to change and loved living off the work of others miss the old system.

This is the case in all of the former YU countries.

The key point is that "outside" interference into the affairs of Yugoslavia, which hand picked people to start the breakup, is the main factor of what happened in YU. Ask any comman citizan of former YU how they feel about YU and you will get your answer, wether its an Albanian, Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian,etc....Very, Very sad! Thats why this Russian "hacking" story bothers me so much here in the US...We implement"Regime Change" around the world and then complain about others trying to influence our elections..REALLY??? Serbs are going to suffer for a very long time to come with politicians with blood on their hands, that is not to say that Bosnia, or Croatia are not facing the same problem.

If you had no connections or wanted to have some free speech, freedom to travel where and when you wanted then you were glad YU broke up.

Those who wanted to work and were able to change their way of thinking were able to succeed in the new system, those who didn't want to change and loved living off the work of others miss the old system.

This is the case in all of the former YU countries.

Republika Srspka needs to be independent (including Eastern Brcko District) because RS cannot share anymore anything with a dangerous muslim-bosniak entity that flirts everyday with Daesh and a dangerous croatian entity that flirts everyday with Hitler's Reich. In former Yugoslavia, with few exceptions, we can see those who really fought the Ottomans, those who really fought the Nazis, those who really fought the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Those who really fought Evil like nobody has did in the entire world. The people with the deepest values in the history of the planet: Serbs.
They became demons in 90s on false accusations and because West decided to stand with Nazis (Germany, Austria, EU) and islamists (USA, NATO), because they were useful then. It was not acceptable by West that a Socialist country could have better lifestyle than many capitalist countries. Highest salaries, excellent welfare, healthcare, schools, etc. An industrial country that has been destroyed because it was a bad example for the international community. Republika Srpska voted to remain Yugoslavia, fought for Yugoslavia against mujahideens and nazis in Bosnia Hercegovina. Republika Srpska needs to protect itself with a wall against those criminals. And RS needs to protect itself from Vucic's Republic of Serbia too. Because the dictator in Belgrade is selling the soul of Serbia to the same actors who wanted it to be destroyed. You should be charged and face trials for the crimes you have committed. You're no man of peace, neither was Milosevic... who eventually led the NATO to bombing Serbia.

@ Guest - I appreciate your comment and opinion, however I would only add that ALL the Ex-YU republics will have their own demons to fight...the biggest being "My Heros are your War Criminals & vice versa"...even today, George Washington is considered a War Criminal in the history of England. The key point is that "outside" interference into the affairs of Yugoslavia, which hand picked people to start the breakup, is the main factor of what happened in YU. Republika Srspka needs to be independent (including Eastern Brcko District) because RS cannot share anymore anything with a dangerous muslim-bosniak entity that flirts everyday with Daesh and a dangerous croatian entity that flirts everyday with Hitler's Reich. In former Yugoslavia, with few exceptions, we can see those who really fought the Ottomans, those who really fought the Nazis, those who really fought the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Those who really fought Evil like nobody has did in the entire world. The people with the deepest values in the history of the planet: Serbs.
They became demons in 90s on false accusations and because West decided to stand with Nazis (Germany, Austria, EU) and islamists (USA, NATO), because they were useful then. It was not acceptable by West that a Socialist country could have better lifestyle than many capitalist countries. Highest salaries, excellent welfare, healthcare, schools, etc. An industrial country that has been destroyed because it was a bad example for the international community. Republika Srpska voted to remain Yugoslavia, fought for Yugoslavia against mujahideens and nazis in Bosnia Hercegovina. Republika Srpska needs to protect itself with a wall against those criminals. And RS needs to protect itself from Vucic's Republic of Serbia too. Because the dictator in Belgrade is selling the soul of Serbia to the same actors who wanted it to be destroyed. Živela Republika Srpska!!!

The term war criminal is relatively new so it would not have been mentioned in that form in the 1770s, but according to all criteria yes he was considered to be a war criminal since he attacked property and officials of the British Crown. In 1775, the English issued a proclamation declaring anyone who sided with the revolutionaries would be considered as traitors to the Crown who would face confiscation of property and imprisonment while the leaders were to be “executed on the scaffold”.
References: George Washington, a biography by John Arden and Crucible of War: The Seven Years' War and the Fate of Empire in British North America, 1754–1766 by Frederick Anderson.
Both cite the issue of George Washington as a war criminal from the British point of view.

The authors of the two books I mentioned actually do cover the issue of how the Brits viewed Washington as a war criminal. Its amazing what an education can do for you. Great idea! So, I did ask a couple of common citizens of former YU (one from Slovenia and one from Croatia) how they feel about YU and I got the answer that they felt very happy that Slovenia and Croatia were no longer part of the defunct YU.
