"MiGs are Russia's wonderful New Year gift to Serbia"

Russian Ambassador Aleksandr Chepurin has told a Belgrade daily that the six MiG-29s to be delivered to Serbia are "a wonderful New Year gift."

How about Russia help to build a contradicting damn and save the Gracanica Monastery in Valjevo from being flooded by mason heathens that know not Holy places???

I am assuming that if the Mig29's were already retired and are going to have to be fixed up.
Was it written anywhere if they are going to have the RD-33 engines?
Those are the ones that many of the older Mig29's have. You can easily tell by the amount of black smoke from the exhaust.
That is a problem of many older Russian aircraft where the exhaust trail can easily be spotted miles away. The SU's don't have this problem neither do most of the modern western built fighters.
The Polish airforce has the old RD-33 engines on their Mig29's which they have to live with until they retire them for western built fighters.
