DAMASCUS Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has said that the victory was won in the fight against armed rebels trying to topple his regime. "The conspiracy against Syria is coming to an end," writes the Al-Akhbar newspaper, citing an unnamed politician who spoke with Assad in the capital Damascus.
