Home currency hits new record high against euro

The dinar strengthened against the euro by 41 paras on Thursday, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) has released. The dinar has thus reached a new record high in 2011 with the official middle exchange rate at RSD 100.1570. Home currency hits new record high against euro The Serbian currency will thus get even closer to the psychological border of under RSD 100 for one euro. The dinar reached its lowest level against the euro on January 6, with the exchange rate at RSD 106.4947. Since the beginning of 2011, the central bank intervened in the interbank foreign exchange market only once by purchasing EUR 5mn in order to ease excessive daily volatility of the exchange rate.

The Serbian currency will thus get even closer to the psychological border of under RSD 100 for one euro.

The dinar reached its lowest level against the euro on January 6, with the exchange rate at RSD 106.4947.

Since the beginning of 2011, the central bank intervened in the interbank foreign exchange market only once by purchasing EUR 5mn in order to ease excessive daily volatility of the exchange rate.
