Societe Generale's CEO in Serbia says the bank will resume its planned activities on the Serbian market this year. In a written statement issued to the media yesterday, Goran Pitic said that those activities would be focussed on the bank’s further development, and maintaining the level of professionalism and quality of service. Societe General in Serbia unaffected The CEO added that in 2007, Societe Generale had made profits internationally of EUR 5.5bn. The massive losses uncovered last week of EUR 4.9mn had brought that figure down to EUR 600mn, he continued. Pitic reiterated that last week, that bank had floated assets worth EUR 5.5bn, thus creating the conditions for the resumption of the bank’s prosperous development.
