"The United States not only violated the Memorandum of Understanding, but effectively nullified it. Failure to implement even one of its clauses would have been enough to undermine the entire agreement, and now the United States has breached all of its obligations," Gharibabadi said, according to IRIB television. He also announced that Iran would assume full control over the Strait of Hormuz.Gharibabadi said Iran's actions did not violate Oman's sovereignty, noting that Oman shares the strait with Iran, and added that Tehran would establish control over the waterway for security reasons."We cannot allow it to be used for actions contrary to our national security," Gharibabadi said.Earlier today, U.S. forces carried out several new strikes against military targets in Iran, after which Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched attacks on U.S. military facilities in Bahrain and Kuwait. The IRGC said the latest U.S. strikes would only delay the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, adding that "not a single drop of oil will leave the region."
