The official missing persons website says there has "still been no contact" with 43,251 reported individuals, down from approximately 46,000 the previous day, Sky News reported.According to figures released by the authorities, National Assembly President Jorge Rodríguez said that 1,719 people have been killed, 5,034 injured, and 15,866 left homeless by the earthquakes.The United Nations had previously warned that the death toll could rise to as many as 10,000, as search and rescue operations continue across the affected areas.Venezuela was struck on June 24 by two powerful earthquakes measuring 7.2 and 7.5 in magnitude, occurring just 39 seconds apart. The hardest-hit area was the coastal state of La Guaira.Since the twin quakes, the country has experienced around 100 aftershocks of lesser intensity.
