Preliminary election results published in Kosovo and Metohija; Overwhelming victory for Srpska Lista

The Vet&euml;vendosje (Self-Determination Movement) received 297,296 votes, while the largest Serbian party in Kosovo and Metohija, Srpska Lista, won 6.17%, or 42,761 votes.Srpska Lista secured an absolute majority in all Serb-majority municipalities.In second place was the Democratic Party of Kosovo with 21.06% (145,856 votes), followed by the Democratic League of Kosovo with 17.61% (121,976 votes), according to data published by the CEC.The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo won 7.18%, or 49,705 votes.According to these results, the party For Freedom, Justice and Survival, led by Nenad Ra&scaron;ić, received 0.76%, or 5,232 votes, with a significant share of its support coming from Albanian-majority municipalities such as Prizren, Djakovica, and Suva Reka.The president of Srpska Lista, Zlatan Elek, stated that the party achieved an outstanding result and won all 10 seats reserved for Serbs in Serb-majority areas. However, he alleged that, as in previous elections, political engineering was taking place and that Ra&scaron;ić was receiving votes from exclusively Albanian communities.Igor Simić said that a parliamentary seat was once again being taken from the Serbian people and handed to Ra&scaron;ić.The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petković, stated that Srpska Lista had won all 10 mandates in Serb-majority areas, while alleging that election engineering by Albin Kurti was aimed at taking one seat from the Serbian community through Albanian votes and awarding it to Nenad Ra&scaron;ić.Petković added that Ra&scaron;ić cannot and will not represent the Serbian people.These preliminary CEC results do not include votes cast at conditional polling stations, ballots from voters with special needs, or votes cast outside Kosovo and Metohija.Overall voter turnout in Sunday&#39;s election was 36.88%, with the highest participation recorded in Serb-majority municipalities.Tanjug/AP Photo/Dejan SimicevicOverall voter turnout was eight percentage points lower than in the December 2025 elections.The elections were held amid what Serbian officials described as intense pressure by Pri&scaron;tina on Serbs and Srpska Lista, including arrests, threats, and raids on Serbian institutions. Serbian representatives also stated that some Serbs were detained on election day.The Assembly of the provisional institutions has 120 seats, of which 10 are reserved for representatives of the Serbian community, 10 for representatives of other non-majority communities, while 100 seats are contested by Albanian political parties.These were the third elections for the Assembly of the provisional institutions in less than 16 months, following the regular elections held in February 2025 and the snap elections in December 2025, which were called after a government could not be formed following the February vote.
