Brnabić with the chair of Italy's EU committee: "Italy will continue to support Serbia on its European path"

The delegation, which is on a one-day visit to Serbia, includes the Chair of the Committee, Giulio Terzi di Sant&rsquo;Agata, and Tatjana Rojc.Brnabić expressed particular gratitude to Italy for its continued support for Serbia&rsquo;s European integration. She recalled that Italy has agreed to allow Serbia to open all chapters within Cluster 3 and added that this support is highly appreciated by the country and its citizens.Committee Chair Giulio Terzi di Sant&rsquo;Agata, a former Italian Foreign Minister, said that Italy will continue to support Serbia and that Belgrade and Rome will maintain cooperation.The Speaker of Parliament informed the Italian guests that the National Assembly is currently in session and that the agenda includes draft laws and amendments, the adoption of which would significantly contribute to further alignment of Serbian legislation with European Union law. Brnabić emphasized that Serbia adopts these laws primarily because their potential adoption and implementation will benefit citizens, not merely to formally meet prescribed standards.The Speaker also introduced members of the Committee on European Affairs of the Italian Senate to the goals of the newly formed Operational Team for the EU accession process, chaired by Serbia&rsquo;s Head of Mission to the EU in Brussels, Danijel Apostolović. According to her, the team, of which she is also a member, meets weekly and closely monitors all activities and obligations related to Serbia&rsquo;s strategic goal of full EU membership.The meeting was also attended by the head of the parliamentary friendship group with Italy, Jovan Palalić, as well as the Ambassador of Italy to the Republic of Serbia, Luca Gori.
