A set of judicial laws has been passed in Serbian Parliament; members of the Commission for Revision appointed

Members voted on proposals amending the Law on Seats and Territories of Courts and Public Prosecutor&rsquo;s Offices, the Law on the High Council of Prosecutors, the Law on the Organization and Competence of State Bodies for Combating High-Tech Crime, the Law on Public Prosecutor&rsquo;s Offices, and the Law on Judges.They also voted on decisions regarding the designation of the coronation insignia of King Peter I Karadjordjević as cultural property of exceptional importance, as well as on the commendation of nun Jefimija&mdash;Pokrov for the relics of Prince Lazar, votive carts, and the sculpture &ldquo;Danubius.&rdquo;The agenda included the report on the work of the Republic Commission for the Protection of Rights in Public Procurement Procedures for the period from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024, the 2024 monitoring report, and the proposal for approving the Statute of the Energy Agency of the Republic of Serbia, submitted by the Committee for Economy, Regional Development, Trade, Tourism, and Energy.Additionally, Members of Parliament approved the financial plans for 2026 of the Securities Commission and the Energy Agency, amendments to the Law on Civil Servants, the ratification of the Agreement on Economic Cooperation between the Governments of Serbia and Uzbekistan, and the ratification of the Agreement on Border Control in Road, Rail, and Water Transport between Serbia and Hungary.The Serbian Parliament has adopted a set of judicial lawsTANJUG/ JADRANKA ILIĆ/bsMembers of the National Assembly of Serbia today adopted amendments to a set of judicial laws proposed by Serbian Progressive Party MP Uglje&scaron;a Mrdić.The adopted laws include amendments to the Law on Seats and Territories of Courts and Public Prosecutor&rsquo;s Offices, the Law on the High Council of Prosecutors, the Law on the Organization and Competence of State Bodies for Combating High-Tech Crime, the Law on Public Prosecutor&rsquo;s Offices, and the Law on Judges.The Assembly also elected members and deputy members of the Commission for the Revision, Verification, and Control of Accuracy and Updating of the Voter RegisterA total of 159 deputies voted in favor, including a majority of the opposition deputies present. Ten members and ten deputies were elected.The elected members of the Commission are Srdjan Smiljanić, Mladen Mladenović, Vladimir Pudar, Goran Vujičić, Bojana Vrane&scaron;, Neboj&scaron;a Spasojević, Ognjen Ra&scaron;ić, Ana Godjevac, Emilija Orestijević, and Vujo Ilić. Deputy members include Vladimir Dimitrijević, Zoran Militarov, Nikola Radonjić, Bela Buta&scaron;, Zoran Dizdarević, Dejan Stevanović, Zdravko Janković, Marko Dimić, Ivo Čolović, and Vladimir Erceg.On the proposal of the parliamentary group &ldquo;Aleksandar Vučić &ndash; Serbia Must Not Stop,&rdquo; Srdjan Smiljanić from Belgrade was elected as a member of the Commission, while Vladimir Dimitrijević from Belgrade was elected as deputy member.In addition, the Assembly adopted amendments to the Law on Civil ServantsThe law will enter into force within eight days of publication.The amendments allow postponing the obligation to conduct public competitions for fixed-term employment in state bodies due to temporarily increased workloads until 2027, instead of 2026 as previously provided. The new deadline for transitioning to competitive recruitment for fixed-term positions is set for January 1, 2027, to allow optimization of employment processes in state bodies during the postponement period.
