“A year has passed since the day that changed Serbia forever. Sixteen lives were lost when the canopy collapsed at the railway station in Novi Sad. Today, we light candles for each of them, praying in silence and believing that their names and memories will remain forever in our hearts. As the President, but also as a citizen of the Republic of Serbia, I once again express my deepest condolences to the families. In this time of sorrow, it is most important for Serbia to remain dignified and united. I ask that we show respect and consideration for one another, because only in that way do we preserve the social fabric that binds us together. Today is a day when, without harsh words or divisions, we should silently offer prayers for the victims. May the grief of the families unite us, not divide us. Let peace and responsibility guide us, and let us seek the truth through institutions — patiently and with full respect. We will continue to build Serbia that moves forward, where safety, responsibility, and care for people come first. After today, let us speak more with each other and less about each other; let us solve problems through dialogue, not with labels; let us respect the law and others’ opinions, regardless of differences.May the names of the victims remind us that human life stands above all divisions. May the memory of them be our pledge to protect one another and our Serbia,” wrote Vučić on Instagram.    View this post on Instagram           A post shared by Aleksandar Vučić (@buducnostsrbijeav)“Today is the day when we should, without harsh words or divisions, offer a prayer in silence for the victims.
