Interior Ministry on high alert; Bomb threats reported in schools across Serbia

This morning, the two largest primary schools in Novi Pazar, &#39;&#39;Bratstvo&#39;&#39; and &#39;&#39;Rifat Burdžović Tr&scaron;o&#39;&#39; received emails claiming that bombs has been planted.Members of the Interior Ministry are on the scene, RTS reports.Dejan Kolundžić, director of &#39;&#39;Bratstvo&#39;&#39; Primary School, said that staff saw the email upon arriving at the school and that parents and pupils were immediately informed that classes would be suspended until the police complete their investigation.The same procedure was followed at &#39;&#39;Rifat Burdžović Tr&scaron;o&#39;&#39; Primary School. Drama at a school in PrijepoljeBefore the first school bell, children and parents arriving at &ldquo;Vladimir Perić Valter&rdquo; Primary School in Prijepolje were informed that a bomb threat had been received claiming an explosive device was planted in the building.&ldquo;Because of this, pupils did not even enter the schoolyard but were immediately kept at a safe distance. Members of the Interior Ministry and bomb disposal teams are expected to arrive on the scene to conduct a detailed inspection of the school and surrounding area,&rdquo; RINA reported.So far, there is no confirmation as to whether this is a false alarm or a real threat. Authorities are monitoring the situation, and further steps will be decided by the competent institutions.Bomb threats in VranjeAn email was sent to the official address of the &ldquo;Bora Stanković&rdquo; Gymnasium, followed by several other primary and secondary schools in Vranje, claiming that a bomb had been placed inside the school.The police confirmed the case regarding the Gymnasium, from which students were evacuated. Parents reported that the same situation occurred at &ldquo;Vuk Karadžić&rdquo; and &ldquo;Radoje Domanović&rdquo; schools.According to unofficial information, children were also evacuated from other schools.Similar incidents occurred in the &Scaron;umadija district and in Leskovac as wellBomb threats were sent this morning to the email addresses of 18 elementary and 10 high schools in Kragujevac and the municipalities of the &Scaron;umadija administrative district, Beta has learned unofficially.In Kragujevac, threats were received by four high schools: the First and Second Kragujevac Gymnasium, the First Technical School, and the School of Economics.Threats were also reported in nine elementary schools in Kragujevac: &ldquo;19th October&rdquo; in Mar&scaron;ić, &ldquo;Sreten Mladenović&rdquo; in Desimirovac, &ldquo;Miloje Simović&rdquo; in Dragobraća, &ldquo;Julijana Ćatić&rdquo; in Stragari, &ldquo;Moma Stanojlović,&rdquo; &ldquo;Jovan Popović,&rdquo; &ldquo;Sveti Sava,&rdquo; &ldquo;Mirko Jovanović,&rdquo; and &ldquo;Dragi&scaron;a Luković &Scaron;panac&rdquo; in Belo&scaron;evac.As per procedure in such cases, the police were notified, students left the schools and moved to a safe location, and they will return once the premises are checked by the competent police units.According to Beta, the threats were sent to outdated school email addresses, which is why some schools did not read the messages in time.So far, the Kragujevac police have not made an official statement.Beta was told by the police that the chief instructed not to spread panic, adding that the threats have been received throughout Serbia.Bomb threats have also been reported in Vojvodina A bomb threat was also reported this morning in several elementary schools in Novi Sad, as well as in other places across Vojvodina, the portal Moj Novi Sad reported.According to the portal, the principal of Elementary School Žarko Zrenjanin called the police immediately after receiving the threat, and no one is allowed to enter the school building until the investigation is completed.Information has also surfaced about other Novi Sad schools receiving threats, including Sonja Marinković, Kosta Trifković, Milo&scaron; Crnjanski, Nikola Tesla, and the Elementary Music School Josip Slavenski.In addition, a bomb threat was reported at Elementary School Laza Kostić in Kovilj, as well as at several schools in Zrenjanin and Žiti&scaron;te.Children are currently waiting in schoolyards for further instructions.
