"The president had several calls with Putin, several meetings with Zelensky, and one will probably be held next week in New York," Rubio said in Tel Aviv, according to the Kyiv Independent.The last meeting between Trump and Zelensky was held on August 18 at the White House, while a few days earlier Trump had the first summit with Putin in Alaska.Although Ukraine rejected Putin's invitation for talks in Moscow, Zelensky repeatedly expressed his willingness to meet with the Russian leader on neutral ground. The US imposed tariffs on Russian oil under Trump's leadership, while Trump, in an attempt to reach an agreement, eased sanctions on Russia.He also criticized the European Union for its continued purchase of Russian oil and gas.

Date known: Zelensky and Trump are meeting
United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Donald Trump could meet with Volodymyr Zelensky next week in New York, during the annual high-level meeting of the UN, which begins on September 22.
