"For now, we do not have confirmation of the number of people in the minibus. It is possible that it is only the driver and one other person, but we are still treating the situation as if there are more people under water," explained Raed Arafat from the Department of Emergency Situations.Road traffic is completely blocked on the viaduct until the end of the rescue operation."The minibus is not visible at all, we have no information about the number of people, the forces have arrived there, but a full team of divers is needed," Arafat told Digi24.  Divers from Craiova and Karaš-Severin were mobilized, and the SMURD helicopter was diverted to transport the diving team to the accident site as soon as possible."The mission is very difficult considering the cloudy Danube," added Arafat and assessed that the chances of survival are very low after a few minutes in the cold water.

A minibus full of passengers fell into the Danube after colliding with another car on the viaduct in Ilovica in western Romania.
