Investigation into fall of the canopy in Novi Sad is taken over by the Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime

Supreme Public Prosecutor Zagorka Dolovac, after analyzing the evidence and facts collected so far by the Higher Public Prosecutor&#39;s Office in Novi Sad and the Supreme Public Prosecutor&#39;s Office, and in connection with the possible commission of several criminal acts with corrupt elements in the course of undertaking all actions of initiation, planning, design, execution of works and commissioning of the Novi Sad Railway Station, while not limiting his actions to other actions and events that can be shown to be related to the above, made a decision to submit the files of that case to the Public Prosecutor&#39;s Office for Organized Crime, and that the acting public prosecutor of the Special Department for Suppression of Corruption of the Higher Public Prosecutor&#39;s Office in Novi Sad be temporarily assigned to the Public Prosecutor&#39;s Office for Organized Crime for work and further proceedings in this case, writes &quot;Blic&quot;.This decision was made because the established factual situation indicates a well-founded suspicion that criminal acts have been committed that fall under the jurisdiction of the state authorities responsible for organized crime and terrorism.&quot;We especially emphasize that the procedure for determining responsibility for the loss of life of 15 people when the roof of the Novi Sad Railway Station fell, which is led by the Higher Public Prosecutor&#39;s Office in Novi Sad, continues independently and with the highest level of priority, and that we expect the indictment against 13 people to come into force soon,&quot; the statement said.The public will be continuously informed about further steps and actions to be taken by the Public Prosecutor&#39;s Office for Organized Crime.Supreme Public Prosecutor Zagorka Dolovac uses this opportunity to invite the representatives of the student protests to a meeting in order to consider the fulfillment of their demands, which are under the jurisdiction of the Public Prosecutor&#39;s Office.
