Fire breaks out in maternity ward; 15 babies killed; Disturbing footage VIDEO

At least 15 babies were killed in a fire that broke out at a hospital in Islamabad, local broadcaster Geo TV reported on Wednesday.

The fire broke out at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) hospital. According to local media reports, it was caused by a fault in the air-conditioning system, Reuters reported.

There were 16 newborns in the gynaecology ward when the fire broke out, of whom only one was rescued.

The fire started around two hours before the report was published, and cooling operations were underway at the hospital.
