Aircraft wreckage found VIDEO

Pakistani rescuers have found the wreckage of a Boeing cargo aircraft during an underwater search operation in the Arabian Sea, 12 hours after the plane disappeared from radar off the coast of Karachi.

Efforts are underway to locate the five crew members who were on board the aircraft, Pakistani authorities said, according to Reuters.

The wreckage of the K2 Airways Boeing 737 cargo plane was found 53 nautical miles (98 kilometers) south of Ormara port, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority said.

K2 Airways, the aircraft operator, said the crew consisted of two pilots, two engineers, and one support staff member.

Authorities have not issued an official statement on their status, although Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his “deepest condolences” to their families.

Flight-tracking service Flightradar24 said the aircraft apparently crashed into the sea southwest of Karachi after a series of sudden altitude changes.
