Spy drama in London; MI5 revealed how China is recruiting British politicians

According to the British Sky News, based on a memo it had access to, the document sent to parliamentary staff states that China's State Security Service (MSS) is actively trying to establish contacts with members of the British parliamentary community, in order to gather information and build long-term relationships through professional networks, recruitment agents and consulting firms acting on their behalf.

Employees in Westminster have been specially warned about two people who are trying to "reach as wide a group as possible on behalf of the MSS" through the LinkedIn social network.

MI5 points out that similar profiles can act as fronts for espionage and that this activity is "targeted and widespread".
