Emergency evacuation at the airport: Thousands of people were thrown out of the building, a suspicious package
A terminal at London's Heathrow Airport was evacuated due to a "suspicious package", leaving thousands of tourists in limbo.
Passengers flooded Terminal 3 at Britain's busiest airport after reports of a suspicious object in the building, at the height of travel during the half-term holiday.
The Metropolitan Police have confirmed they are at Heathrow Airport dealing with the situation:
"It is a suspicious package and we are on the scene dealing with it".
Countless people were seen on social media reporting being thrown out of the building due to the alarm.
Heathrow Express rail services to the airport also appear to have been affected by the emergency, with the operator taking to social media to say there were "delays" to some of their services.
It is not yet clear whether flights will be delayed due to the evacuation.
This comes just months after Heathrow Airport was thrown into chaos following a fire at a nearby substation.
Almost all flights were canceled on March 21, leaving thousands of passengers stranded.
