Serbia's U20 national team has reached the EuroBasket final for the first time in this age category since 2015, when they defeated Spain and won the gold medal.

This generation will fight for the trophy on Sunday at the "Stožice" Arena against hosts Slovenia, who previously defeated France after a dramatic comeback.

The "Eaglets" have also recorded their sixth victory in as many games at the European Championship after beating Spain.

The final against Slovenia is scheduled for 19:00, and a live text commentary will be available on B92.sport.

Nemanja Jovanović's team made a brilliant start to the game. They played aggressively on defence and attacked the basket, with the Lučić–Bošnjaković duo dominating.

After a 3+1 play, Bošnjaković had 11 points while Spain had 10 as Serbia quickly built a double-digit lead, reaching as much as +14 at the end of the first quarter (25–11).

The second quarter was also marked by excellent play from the Serbian players, while "La Furia" kept missing three-pointer after three-pointer, until Garmendia finally found his rhythm.

Spain managed to prevent Serbia from building a potentially unreachable advantage, with the score at halftime 42–28, but the third quarter began with another display of brilliance from the "Eaglets".

In no time, Serbia reached its biggest lead of the game at +18.

But then...

Just a few minutes later, Serbia allowed their lead to slip away. Mistakes and turnovers started to pile up, and Spain suddenly found themselves within six points.

The fourth quarter was marked by a series of tense moments on both sides, with neither team producing particularly high-quality basketball. Spain managed to cut the deficit to just three points with only a few minutes remaining.

And then the chaos began.

In two consecutive possessions, Stanojević and Džepina delivered spectacular blocks at the rim to deny Spain, before Šuput hit a three-pointer with Serbia leading by three and just over a minute left on the clock. It was his first field goal of the game and effectively sealed Spain's fate.

The final minutes brought a few more impressive plays, but the winner was already decided, and there was no dramatic free-throw finish.

The standout performers for the "Eaglets" were Andrej Lučić with 20 points and Mitar Bošnjaković with 17 points in 36 minutes on the court. Also worth highlighting was Nikola Džepina, who delivered an outstanding performance with 12 points, five rebounds, four assists and an incredible five blocks — earning a game-high efficiency rating of 22.

For Spain, Garmendia was Serbia's biggest problem, finishing with 16 points, while Gaspa and Karot also reached double figures with 10 points each.
