England's "Firecracker" in Belgrade; Piksi considered resigning: "We wouldn't get out alive"

The "Eagles" experienced one of the most convincing defeats in their history at the "Rajko Mitić" stadium, against the team with which they almost won a draw at the European Championship last summer.

As many as three visiting national team members (Madueke, Konsa, Guéhi) scored their first goals in the national team jersey in the Serbian capital and thus left Serbia practically without even a small chance when it comes to hopes, now dreams, of first place.

To make matters worse, coach Dragan Stojković will not be able to count on Saša Lukić and Nikola Milenkovic in that match because of the cards they received against England.

"This defeat was hard for us, especially me", our national coach Dragan Stojkovic Piksi said after the match. "Criticize me, don't touch the players. The boys gave everything they could. They need to raise their heads. I believe that there will be a new Serbia in October. Criticize me, no problem. Of course, I also accept people's dissatisfaction."

"Of course I heard, I respect that. Don't forget that so much good has been done in these four years, that this defeat cannot undo it. If you think we are a football wonder, that we can win England, okay. Bring the one who can do that", Piksi concluded.
