Serbian tourist drowns in Halkidiki, Pulled from water unconscious
A 65-year-old Serbian citizen, whose identity has not been disclosed, has reportedly drowned at sea in Halkidiki, the Greek Coast Guard said.
According to the relevant authorities, the Port Authority of Nea Moudania was informed this morning that a Serbian national had been found unconscious in the sea in the Glarokavos area, near Pefkohori.
“A medical emergency team arrived at the scene shortly afterward and transported the 65-year-old man to the Kassandra Health Center. However, doctors could only confirm his death,” they stated.
The investigation is being conducted by the Second Department of the Nea Moudania Port Authority, under the Central Port Authority of Thessaloniki.
At the order of the competent authorities, an autopsy and forensic examination will be carried out by the Forensic Medicine Service in Thessaloniki in order to determine the exact cause of death. No further details regarding the circumstances of the case have been released so far.
