"Do you want radicalization, conflicts or something else? I believe students will be braver than professors
President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, said that he will continue to insist on a dialogue with students and that he is not interested in who will participate in that dialogue, because every conversation is healing, and that they can talk to whoever they want.

When asked if he expected a negative response from the rector's office about fulfilling the students' demands, Aleksandar Vučić said that he was not offended, but asked what the goal was then.
"Did I expect such an answer? To some extent, regardless of the fact that the day before they told us that they wanted to participate in the dialogue, they answered all emails, I was skeptical and suspicious, but as a political veteran I wondered how they would justify it. It was meaningless, with crazy excuses and I have nothing against it. I wasn't even hurt. Whoever you want to talk to, that's great news for Serbia, every conversation is healing. What is your message? Do you want radicalization, conflicts or something else? I will continue to insist on dialogue," said Vučić.
If I may be frank, I believe that students will be braver than some of their professors, he added.
He assessed that some people are afraid of their own shadow, and withdraw into themselves in order to avoid any kind of responsibility, and that this is not the first time in Serbia.
"Everyone in our society is silent and pretends they don't understand what it is about. That was said by an opposition doctor who thinks he has the right to characterize people who think differently from him. The student body is called a big meeting of delegates, I went a little deeper into that topic, learned everything, I expect them to take a serious look at it," he added.
The president recalled the statement of an opposition doctor that "you are either a man or you are SNS member", and said that even Goebbels never made such a statement.
He announced the new Law on Education. "We decided by government decree to allocate much more money, a new 100 million euros, for education", he said.
New government at the end of March
Speaking about the decision whether to go for elections or choose a new government, Vučić said that in the next 10-12 days the resignation of the government should be confirmed, which would mean that we must get a new government by March 19 or 20, otherwise we will have to hold elections in early May.
"Then we have deadlines from the 17th or 18th of March either for the formation of a new government or for new elections," he said.
When asked which scenario he is closer to, Vučić said that he thinks it is good to try to create a good government, because the Expo is important, and pointed out that today Germany confirmed participation in that exhibition, the Americans, the Russians, the Chinese.
On students' blockades
When it comes to student blockades, Vučić said that it is necessary to try to "remain calm, not to allow impatience and nervousness to make us take any wrong step".
"I am using the opportunity once again for all those who support me and the majority in Serbia to be absolutely disciplined. Those young people are our future, we have to protect them, if an incident happens, it goes in someone else's favor", he said.
He reminded that our services are doing everything to secure the demonstrators.
The majority of gatherings are illegal, and along with blockades, they are also unconstitutional, he adds.
"It is up to us to drop the ball. It is up to us to try to stand still, not to allow impatience and nervousness to make us take any wrong step," he said.
He points out that he does not care, nor will he be happy to see Rector Djokić or anyone else, but that he thinks the conversation is good for Serbia.
"It is not in anyone's interest for things to remain like this," said Vučić.
The answers were excuses, he explained, due to the pressures of some students and professors.
"I know statesmen who wage wars and are always successful in that, but they are not successful in achieving peace. I think students will be smarter than some professors and I am almost sure of that," said Vučić.
He asserted that professors and teachers have the right to shorten classes and that is fair, but they do not have the right to suspend work, the president says.
"That is impossible according to the laws of our country and anywhere in the world, but we let it go and we said that everyone should get the same wages in January. We will see what happens in February," he said and pointed out that the students had already lost three weeks.
He asked how many Saturdays and Sundays are needed after all to work, and adds that people want to live a normal life, for their children to learn.
"Today, for the first time, we had teachers complaining about being mobbed by other teachers. It's your job, to teach classes, a legal obligation. Where did the other get the right to put pressure because you want to teach classes? I'm happy because everyone got their salary for January," said Vučić.
"We will see what will happen in February, a much larger part of the teachers are in classes, which is not directly visible through the number of schools, but is visible through the number of teachers participating in classes," said Vučić.
In his opinion, the state is "maximum lenient" in this crisis and has not "intervened anywhere for a single second". He emphasized the need to drop the ball and talk and stated that it "gave him hope" that a reasonable solution could be reached when he heard the students' statements that they did not want cooperation with Proglas and politicians in general.
He announced tonight that in the coming days, around Sretenje, a meeting will be organized at which a political declaration on Vojvodina in Serbia will be made and that this declaration has nothing to do with students.
Vučić reminded of the insults he receives that his name should not be mentioned at all.
"It's dehumanization. Should I go on television and say that I'm a good person? It would be stupid," he said.
He pointed out that none of Vucic family members has an apartment in Berlin.
"We raised the country like a phoenix from the ashes, from destruction. From what should I run, from whom? From the people for whom I fought, for which I clashed with the world's greatest powers, which no one else dared to do," emphasized Vučić.
Vučić emphasized that he is proud of the results.
"We have never prevented the freedom of assembly, and when someone needs to assemble who thinks differently, they say it is a "counter-rally", he said.
He said that we long to start working and for our country to move forward.
When it comes to the release of documentation on the fall of the canopy, they say that everything has been released.
"I invite the students to talk to the prosecutors. They got everything from the documents we have. It is so complete," said Vučić and added that it is the job of the tax office and the prosecutor's office to investigate whether there was corruption, not Šoškić.
"I looked at all the companies that worked on the project, I have no idea which companies those are. We are talking about subcontractors. I have no idea who they are. But, when you ask for something and when you make demands like that, you will always find something missing. When you want to say that the requests are not fulfilled, then it is impossible to fulfill them. And when you want to be fair, then you will say that the state has done its job," said Vučić.
He pointed out that the institutions will now deal with and arrest subcontractors for corruption and added that price increases during the execution of works happen all the time.
"It happens because the price of bitumen rises, the price of stone rises, because the price of fuel rises, because the price of labor rises..." he stated.
Speaking about the upcoming elections in Kosovo and Metohija, he points out that Albin Kurti has a loaded gun all the time and wants to shoot Serbs, which he had already done.
"The problem is that most of the Western world turns a blind eye, it is their child. The new American administration did not belong to either Clinton or Bush, and they are not living the life of the 90s. That can be our hope, as well as for the preservation of Republika Srpska. I am very worried about the proceedings against Milorad Dodik. I hope that we can all think it through together to preserve peace and stability," said Vučić.
