Jovanović: E-Government saved 900 million sheets of paper thanks to its services
Director of the Office for IT and eGovernment, Mihailo Jovanović, stated today that eGovernment is also a “green” administration, since the electronic services it provides have saved 900 million sheets of paper — which, he noted, equals more than 90,000 trees.
“The most recent project we completed was the electronic gradebook. There are no more red gradebooks in schools,” said Jovanović during a tour of the creative, innovative, multifunctional, and digital center “Ložionica,” which was opened today in the presence of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.
Jovanović emphasized that “Ložionica” covers an area of 4,800 square meters and that, due to its significance, the building is under state protection.
“This building was constructed 100 years ago and was a marvel of the Second Industrial Revolution — the first reinforced concrete structure in Belgrade,” Jovanović noted.
President of the National Assembly Ana Brnabić stated that the Ložionica building is the first public administration facility that will be completely open to all citizens.
“Every citizen will be able to come here, talk, and receive help, advice, or support. It’s completely open — unlike traditional administration buildings where you need an appointment or can’t even enter. Here, we’ll have a completely different concept of public administration,” Brnabić said.
