Starting today, banks in Serbia are obliged to reduce interest rates

As previously announced by the National Bank of Serbia, these credit products under more favorable conditions should be published as a special offer of banks on their internet presentations.

These products include dinar, consumer and cash loans of up to one million dinars, dinar loans for refinancing cash and consumer loans in that bank without an amount limit, special cash loans of up to one million dinars and refinancing loans granted to pensioners with included life insurance, as well as housing loans intended for the purchase of a first apartment.

Nominal interest rates on cash and consumer loans, as well as on loans for refinancing those loans, should be three percentage points lower than July, with the lower limit of the interest rate up to 7.5 percent.

Nominal interest rates should be lower by three percentage points for both special cash loans and refinancing loans granted to pensioners with included life insurance, with an interest rate floor of up to 10.5 percent.

As for housing loans, the nominal interest rate should be lower by up to 0.5 percentage points from the average nominal interest rate at which a specific bank approved housing loans within the standard offer in July 2025.

When approving these loans, banks should not charge fees for processing loan applications.

Loans under the mentioned conditions, as stated by the NBS, will be offered by banks for at least one year.
