The interior is pleasant, discreetly and tastefully arranged in brown and ochre tones. When talking of the menu, Donna Klara offers Mediterranean cuisine, although we can say that the said cuisine is the basis for imaginative and original versions of well known recipes. A vast choice of pastas (some of them are homemade), salads and combinations typical for Mediterranean cuisine, place this restaurant in the group of those we primarily visit for lunch. The entrée imperijal, although the most expensive item on the menu, was large for three guests – an unusual blend of smoked salmon and prosciutto, with the addition of lettuce, asparagus and avocado. For the main course, we first tried the tasteful chicken chop sui, a mix of various vegetables, rice and tender pieces of chicken — we have chose the hotter version. Green homemade pasta in tomato sauce with basilico was superbly prepared, al dente, with carefully balanced tastes and beautifully served. The turkey with mlinci and gorgonzola didn’t look quite appealing on the plate, but the taste was extraordinary. From the sweets, we liked the light cheesecake, which comes highly recommended. The restaurant is a bit more expensive, but the service and versatility of the menu justifies the prices. The choice of wines is rich and select, but prices are high, and while the service and the setting are faultless, we didn’t like to be charged for the couver, although it was stated in the menu that they do. Meal for two costs 2,000 dinars. Donna Klara is located on the Dorcol side of Kralja Petra Street, a place where a small tavern existed for many years.
