An Associated Press photo taken Sunday shows two alleged collaborators with Russian forces tied to flagpoles in the newly liberated city, awaiting an uncertain fate.

London's Sunday Times reported that Ukrainian intelligence services had orchestrated the arrests of numerous traitors, often keeping them behind bars for weeks without charge.

On Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed associates who remained in the city after the Russian withdrawal. He called on them to surrender with the guarantee that they will be "treated in accordance with the law and international standards". He announced on Sunday evening that 400 cases of war crimes have already been recorded in Kherson. Zelensky added that the "neutralization of saboteurs" is still ongoing.

The governor of the Kherson region, Yaroslav Yanusevych, claims that the Russians mined almost everything as they were retreating from the city.
