"His goal for us is that we all die"; "Get ready..."
In recent weeks, the residents of Kyiv have been sporadically without electricity and water due to constant attacks by the Russian army, which targeted infrastructure facilities, which is why the Ukrainian authorities have introduced restrictions in the supply of electricity in order to preserve the system as much as possible. It is estimated that about 40 percent of the Ukrainian energy system was destroyed in the bombing, and the President of Ukraine stated that there is a possibility that the Russian army is preparing for mass attacks on energy infrastructure facilities.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko told Ukrainian television that Russian attacks on those facilities are an act of terrorism and genocide, referring to the Geneva Convention, which obliges the parties to the conflict that attacks must not be directed at civilians.
"Russian President Vladimir Putin does not need us, the Ukrainians. He needs territory, he needs Ukraine without Ukrainians," Klitschko said and added that "this is why everything that is happening is an act of genocide."
"His goal for us is that we all die, freeze or leave our country so that he can have it," said Klitschko.
