Exclusive concert of the group "Electric Orgasm" on December 17 in Dom omladine
The second studio album of the then punk rock group was in every way unusual, authentic, rarely original, conceptual on several levels, with 17 songs on A and B tracks. The frontman of the group, Srdjan Gojković Gile, says specially for Tanjug that at the moment of the creation of that album, he had the feeling that they were creating a masterpiece. It was a unique project and in a way an experiment, something completely new for everyone in the band.
"For me, it's one of the four best albums we've done. It was certainly an experiment and we followed only personal inspiration and creativity. We didn't really pay attention to the commercial side of it all, but that's more or less always the case in this band. Artistic creation is always above and ahead of everything else," says Srdjan Gojković for Tanjug.
"Electric orgasm" was founded on January 13, 1980 in the Belgrade tavern "Mornar", after a concert by the Macedonian ethno-jazz rock group "Leb i sol". The group was then founded by - Srdjan Gojković Gile (before that the drummer of the band "Hipnotisano pile"), Ljubomir Jovanović Jovec (also guitarist of the band "Hipnotisano pile") and organist Ljubomir Djukić – Ljuba. Nevertheless, "Leaves cover Lisbon" was a real gem in their discography.
"We were aware that we were creating something special and extraordinary. When we finished the album, we knew it was our little masterpiece. Unfortunately, at the time only a small part of critics and audiences saw it that way. It took decades to all the greatness of that album is taken into account, that only 40 years later it would be the best-selling album in Croatia for three weeks. This is the final confirmation of what we thought 40 years ago," said Gile.
In the New Wave, the albums recorded by the bands with whom "Electric Orgasm" shared the legendary album "Package Arrangement" also stood out. These are "Defense and the last days" from "Idols" and "A brighter or duller man becomes when..." from "Charlotte the acrobat". "Electric Orgasm" has offered the audience 12 studio, 7 live and 3 compilation albums in more than 40 years of career.
For the performance in Dom omladine on December 17, we are preparing two full hours of rock and roll, and sometimes it's hard to give up some hits. Gojković notes that he has a set list of songs for the concert, but also that he accepts creative suggestions from the other band members.
"The big hits usually remain on the list, although not always. There were periods when we didn't play "The whole of Yugoslavia plays rock'n'roll", "Fat girl", "Babe, you're not here". We simply like to take a break from some songs for a while, and then when we get them back, we play them much better, because we missed them and want to hear them again", Gojković believes.
