Bosnian jihadi makes it to Washington's "black list"

Ikanovic was previously sentenced to eight years in prison on charges of terrorism, and "made his voice heard last two years ago when he said he did not plan to return alive."

"I left Bosnia to never return - except with weapons in my hands," he has been quoted as saying.

Ikanovic is described by security experts as "the most dangerous Bosniak" and a Wahhabi movement member who has the role of a commander in the Islamic State organization.

Ikanovic is not the only Bosnian citizen who has joined a terrorist organization. Bosnian Presidency member Mladen Ivanic recently said there are about 300 Bosnian citizens either now taking part in IS activities or having done so in the past.

"About 100 citizens returned when we introduced penalties, about 50 were killed, and about 150 are still taking part in the war," Ivanic said.
