Pristina team chief Edita Tahiri has denied that Belgrade representatives offered to recognize Kosovo in exchange for the north of the province. She, however, did not rule out a possibility that the issue had been unofficially discussed. Pristina team chief denies Belgrade offered recognition When asked by Radio Free Europe to comment on Pristina team member Lirim Greicevci’s statement that Belgrade team head Borislav Stefanovic had offered to recognize Kosovo’s independence in exchange for the north, she said: “The only thing I can confirm is that only issues that were on the agenda were discussed during the official talks in Brussels – the technical issues which were subject of harmonization. I did not hear what was said out in the corridors,” Tahiri explained. She pointed out that that Stefanovic could only make such an offer to Greicevci during an informal meeting. The Belgrade team chief has already denied the allegations. Tahiri stressed that “if Stefanovic tries to put anything that falls within the domain of political issues on the agenda, it would seriously jeopardize the dialogue”. Edita Tahiri (Tanjug, file)
