"No passports needed", say KPS

Kosovo police (KPS) spokesman Bakim Kelani says that "citizens of Serbia and Montenegro" do not need passports to enter Kosovo. Passports are necessary for everybody else, he added. "No passports needed", say KPS “The decision is that everybody needs to carry a passport except citizens of Serbia and Montenegro, who can enter Kosovo without it,” Kelani told KIM Radio. He explained that KPS did not stop "citizens of Serbia and Montenegro" if they did not have passports, and that they were "only informing them" that they should carry the documents. But, the spokesman continued, such travelers “had the right” to enter the territory of Kosovo. Last week however, KPS stated that "citizens of Serbia and Montenegro would need passports from November 10", while "citizens of Serbia would get a special card at the border crossing which would serve as a visa". This decision was valid through November 14, reports said today.
