Karić: Mobtel worth three billion

“Dinkić was responsible for doing everything over the past six years to destroy Mobtel, not I. Consequently the political cynicism that he is hiding behind in his statements is the story of how this is a fantastic investment. Dinkić cannot understand that by charging extra-profit to Mobtel he has not only economically weakened the majority owner, he has also vacuumed out the money from 49 percent of the state’s ownership,” according to the statement from Karić’s party.

“I think that my vision, my approach to the world of business, economic renewal and getting back Serbia’s dignity in international measures was the best message that tomorrow, after elections, the position of Serbian prime minister should be offered to the Power of Serbia Party.” Karić said.

Karić, who is the former owner of Mobtel, has charges against him since February 2006 for suspicions of Mobtel robbing the state of 2.5 billion dinars while he was in charge. The Serbian Internal Affairs Minister and Interpol are currently looking for him.

In the meantime, his party is being run by his brother Dragomir Karić and has been suffering a tremendous decrease in ratings since Bogoljub Karić left the country. According to current statistics, the Power of Serbia Party has 2.1 percent of the Serbian voters’ support.
