BELGRADE Prime Minister Ivica Dacic has sent a letter of congratulations to new Chinese President Xi Jinping. The Serbian premier said in his letter that he hoped for the process of the intensifying of the two countries' cooperation to continue. PM congratulates new president of China “On the behalf of the Republic of Serbia and on my personal behalf, I would like to congratulate you on your election as president of the People's Republic of China,” Dacic wrote. “The deep, traditional friendship between Serbia and China has grown into a strategic friendship which, I believe, will continue with intensifying of cooperation and strong political trust,” he added. The Serbian prime minister wished the new Chinese president to lead China down the road of success and prosperity. The National People's Congress elected Secretary General of the Communist Party Xi Jinping as new Chinese president, which ended the second orderly transfer of power since the establishment of the People's Republic of China in 1949.
