NOVI SAD Verica Kalanovic said on Friday she does not expect Belgrade and Pristina will stop their dialogue, but that enormous effort is needed to reach a compromise. This cabinet minister and high ranking official of the United Regions of Serbia (URS) spoke during a news conference in Novi Sad. Minister: Brussels talks will not be called off Kalanovic also stated that "all those who thought the talks would go smoothly and the negotiators in Brussels would have no dilemmas were deeply mistaken". The talks to date have shown the Serbian government determination to finally take the dialogue all the way in the interest of all who live in Kosovo, especially the Serbs. "I do not think the dialogue will be called off, but I am aware that enormous efforts will have to be invested to reach a compromise," said Kalanovic. Kalanović also stated that "all those who thought the talks would go smoothly and the negotiators in Brussels would have no dilemmas were deeply mistaken".

The talks to date have shown the Serbian government determination to finally take the dialogue all the way in the interest of all who live in Kosovo, especially the Serbs.

"I do not think the dialogue will be called off, but I am aware that enormous efforts will have to be invested to reach a compromise," said Kalanović.

Prime Minister Ivica Dačić said on Thursday that he does not know in which direction the dialogue could go when Priština's representatives do not even want to talk about bestowing any executive powers on the proposed community of Serb municipalities in Kosovo.
