Party of United Pensioners of Serbia (PUPS) leader Jovan Krkobabic is convinced that a new government will be formed in a few days. Pensioners’ leader “expects new govt. in few days” He said that his optimism came from the last night’s meeting of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS)-PUPS-United Serbia (JS) coalition and Democratic Party (DS) leader Boris Tadic. “There will be no talk on the government today and tomorrow because a wider circle of people needs to gather and they should join the talks. However, I will not tell you who those people are for now,” Krkobabic told Tanjug. He repeated that Serbia could get a new government but did not want to say the exact date. “I am optimistic that we will form the government in a few days but I cannot tell you precisely in how many days,” the PUPS leader stressed. The SPS-led coalition representatives met with Tadic on Friday night and agreed to intensify the talks so the government could be formed as soon as possible. SPS leader Ivica Dacic said after the meeting that they had discussed the forming of the parliamentary majority and goals and structure of the future government. “Our coalition agreed a long time ago that, if the government is formed with the DS as the biggest party in the coalition, that the party should have the prime minister’s position and that DS leader Boris Tadic should take it and it has not and will not change its position,” he explained on Friday. JS leader Dragan Markovic said that they had discussed the economic program and confirmed that the prime minister’s office would go to the Democrats. Jovan Krkobabic (Tanjug, file) Tanjug
