Democratic Party (DS) and Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) leaders Boris Tadic and Ivica Dacic have found a new formula that could be a basis for the government. This is according to daily Vecernje novosti. Socialists, Democrats “find new formula for govt.” B92 has learnt that it would be a tight majority of 126 MPs but that it is not a final solution and that the talks would be continued. According to the B92 sources and the daily, a solution is to have the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians (SVM), Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO), two MPs from Maja Gojkovic's People Party and two U-Turn Movement MPs in the cabinet along with the Democrats and the Socialists. Even though it would be a tight majority of 126 MPs, it would suit both the DS and the SPS because it would not include the entire Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) or the entire United Regions of Serbia (URS). However, according to unofficial information, neither LDP leader Cedomir Jovanovic or URS leader Mladjan Dinkic have been completely ruled out since the formula is only a basis for an agreement and not a final solution. B92 learned on Friday that the Socialists decided to seek the prime minister’s position for Dacic but the request was not presented to Tadic on the Friday meeting because the SPS assessed that the Democrats would probably reject it. Dacic stressed after the meeting that he had not changed his mind and that Tadic should be the next PM. Ivica Dacic and Boris Tadic (FoNet, file) B92 Vecernje novosti
