More than 10,000 Serbs in Kosovo have taken out new personal identification cards over the last year. The main reason for this is that pensioners will not be entitled to their pensions after September 1 without the new document. Kosovo Labor Minister Nenad Rasic said that most Serbs in Kosovo had little money and were on social welfare programs from the Kosovo budget. The average pension in Kosovo is about EUR 50. All people over the age of 65, regardless of whether they have worked anywhere or not, have the right to a pension.
