EULEX has announced tightened controls of commercial vehicles entering Kosovo starting on May 20, in order to clamp down on smuggling and illegal activities.

EULEX has announced tightened controls of commercial vehicles entering Kosovo starting on May 20, in order to clamp down on smuggling and illegal activities. The EU’s mission to Kosovo stated that from May 20, EULEX customs would be taking copies of all commercial vehicle drivers’ personal IDs, as well as of trading licenses and all accompanying documentation to products being transported across administrative line checkpoints 1 and 31. EULEX to tighten customs checks The documentation will be forwarded to local officials in the Kosovo and Serbian customs services, according to a statement.
