15 veterans from the 3rd Army Brigade are in front of the government building, asking to speak to PM Mirko Cvetkovic. They also want to meet with Finance Minister Diana Dragutinovic and Economy and Regional Development Minister Mladjan Dinkic. Veterans seek audience with PM Dusan Burzan, leader of the Krusevo Veterans’ Strike Committee, told Beta that the veterans wanted to see the progress made by the competent Working Group over their demands, prior to the start of today’s cabinet meeting. If they did not receive the information prior to the meeting, the veterans would, he said, wait for the cabinet meeting to end and see what had been decided. Dragutinovic received the veterans last Tuesday, and afterwards, the ministry announced that it had taken over responsibility for the issue, and that it would inform ministers at today’s cabinet meeting in order to find a solution to the problem. The veterans want to be paid wages owed to them dating back to the Kosovo war of 1999. The men are each owed around EUR 2,500, to be paid in six installments. The veterans repeated that they would start holding mass rallies in front of the government building and Presidency, if a solution was not found soon.
