The Lovas war crimes trial continued yesterday as the defendants entered their pleas at the Belgrade District Court War Crimes Chamber . 70 civilians were killed in atrocities that took place in the Croatian village of Lovas in 1991. Lovas war crimes trial continues At yesterday’s hearing, the third accused Milan Radojcic pleaded not guilty. Fourteen people are accused of war crimes in Lovas, including four officials of the then local territorial authorities, four members of the Yugoslav People’s Army, and six paramilitaries. According to the indictment, they murdered 45 civilians in October 1991. The defendants are accused of assembling civilians in such a way to form a human shield on October 18, and forcing them to walk through a minefield. 22 people died as a result, along with three other civilians in sporadic incidents during the same period. Seven of the accused are in custody, while the remainder are out on bail.

Lovas war crimes trial continues

At yesterday’s hearing, the third accused Milan Radojčić pleaded not guilty. Fourteen people are accused of war crimes in Lovas, including four officials of the then local territorial authorities, four members of the Yugoslav People’s Army, and six paramilitaries.
