Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic has talked with Hague Chief Prosecutor Serge Brammertz in Brioni about implementation of the action plan. A regional conference on the work of prosecutor’s offices in the region is currently under way on the island. Serbian prosecutor meets with Brammertz The Serbian Prosecutor’s Office said that Vukcevic had also talked about the analysis of work on cases entrusted to Belgrade by the Hague Tribunal and the Croatian Prosecutor’s Office. He said that the Serbian Prosecution supported efforts to establish a joint system for filing war crimes in the region, which, he said, would be useful for future cooperation between prosecutor’s offices. “We are prepared to respond to every request that is in line with signed international memoranda, agreements and our regulations,” Vukcevic said. The two-day regional conference of state prosecutors on processing war crimes in the region has started. Representatives from the Croatian, Montenegrin, Serbian, Bosnian and Macedonian Prosecutor’s Offices will take part in the conference to discuss mutual cooperation in the prosecution of war crimes. The conference is of a working nature, and is closed to the media, though the Croatian State Prosecutor’s Office announced that a joint statement from all the participants would be released after the meeting.
