Bojan Pajtic says that the Democratic Party (DS) has yet to discuss possible candidates for the position of prime minister. The Democratic Party (DS) vice president told daily Vecernje Novosti that the party had not chosen a candidate for prime minister after the coming elections. DS: No discussion of PM candidates “For us, these elections are more important than any kind of political manoeuvring,” Pajtic said. The DS vice-president added that the elections would decide whether Serbia would continue on its European path or choose a road to self-isolation. He said that the DS would select potential candidates for important state positions once the results of the May 11 elections were known. The daily writes that Pajtic is interested in remaining president of the Vojvodina executive council, and therefore heads the DS election list, “For a European Vojvodina – Boris Tadic.” Pajtic denied rumors that the DS was negotiating at any level with former Radical and Novi Sad Mayor Maja Gojkovic’s newly formed political group over a possible coalition. “After good results in the presidential elections throughout Vojvodina and in Novi Sad itself, we are convinced that the DS will take power in the province,” the DS vice-president predicted.
