Investing in citizens is good politics
Zec told B92 that every discussion of the state’s credit function is pointless, because the state does not have enough money for more important things which are necessary for integration into the European community.“Investing money in the citizens is a political move. It is a campaign. The government always loves to give. It is not only the case here; everyone loves to give. Here there exists an understanding that there is a bag somewhere, and that bag is the state’s, that this is a state safe where public money is deposited, and that the Government has the key and distributes this money. When you give, how do the people perceive you? Like a savior. But who are they to be giving this money, is the parliament giving the money, who is it, and what is the procedure?” Zec said.
