Speaking for the state broadcaster RTS, Stefanovic said it was "important that Hahn is coming to Serbia, because what has been happening over the past months requires a conversation and a resolution of a situation that has been burdening the region, although Serbia did not participate in a negative sense."

"It's important also that Serbia's message is heard. He is coming tomorrow (Friday) and on Saturday morning we will hold a government session where he will be present. Our message is clear, Serbia wants peace and stability in the region, which is a precondition for continued economic reforms and our economic growth. And we want to speak to Hahn about all such questions, but also about chapters 23 and 24...," the minister said, referring to Serbia's EU accession negotiations.

Stefanovic also "expects a clear position from the EU":

"We want to present what we see, what we're thinking about, how we view the situation in the region, and to talk about the facts concerning all that has been happening, with our arguments. We want to send the message: You cannot call our people a handful of miserables. I would like to hear some answers related to that, I think it's impossible that Europe should be financing some media outlets, institutions that are placing untruths, such as the one about Tamnava West Field, placed by BIRN," said Stefanovic.

The minister also thinks Serbia's decision "not to react to provocations coming from Croatia" was "good and smart."

"As for the RS referendum, the (Serbian) prime minister will tomorrow meet with (RS President) Milorad Dodik and discuss bilateral relations. As far as the referendum is concerned Serbia is very clear," he said.
