Member of Karadjordjevic family dies in France

Prince <em>(knez)</em> Alexander of Yugoslavia (Aleksandar Pavlov Karadjordjevic) passed away at the age of 91 in Paris on Thursday morning, his office said.

Member of Karadjordjevic family dies in France

Alexander was born in 1924 in the United Kingdom and received his education at Eton. He participated in World War II as a volunteer and an RAF pilot, and settled in Paris after the war.

Aleksandar served as vice president of the Board of Directors of the Western European Diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church, and was the patron, protector and the grand master of the Sovereign Military Order of the Dragon, which he founded in 2011, Tanjug reported, quoting his office.

He was also patron of the Center for Research of Orthodox Monarchism.

Prince Alexander of Yugoslavia will be buried at the Royal Family Mausoleum at Oplenac, in central Serbia.
