"Serb members of Kosovo assembly did not vote for Thaci"

Speaking to reporters, Vucic said that Serb members of the Kosovo assembly did not vote for Taci on Friday and that no agreement on this had been made with Belgrade.

"In making decisions, they follow their conscience and interests and I support them in that sense," the prime minister said.

The Serb assembly members did not vote for Thaci or any candidate, because they are primarily concerned with their own interests and how and with whom they will live, he noted.

Vucic declined to comment on speculations by Kosovo media that the head of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Djuric met with Thaci in Kosovo on Friday, remarking, however, that he was "unaware that Kosovo media has become an important source of information for the attending reporters."

Speaking on Sunday, Djuric also denied that members of the Serb (Srpska) List on Friday voted in favor of electing Thaci, saying that they were present during the voting as they "did not wish to be in the street with Self-Determination demonstrators" - but "did not vote for Thaci."

Vucic to visit Kosovo

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic will visit Kosovo and Metohija in the next 20 days, the head of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo Marko Djuric announced on Saturday.

Vucic will visit the Serb communities both north and south of the River Ibar and speak with Serb representatives to see "what, and how, is being done and how people live," Djuric told state broadcaster RTS.

"And they live in a very difficult and complex way, especially south of the Ibar - without Serbia's support and active work, without the solidarity of entire Serbia, they would not survive," Djuric said.
