Kremlin: Western countries "not ready for single coalition"

After terrorist attacks in Paris on November 13, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his French counterpart Francois Hollande presented a proposal to form "a broad coalition" that would include all forces fighting against jihadis, Beta said.

Putin and Hollande met in Moscow yesterday and " agreed it is necessary to form a coalition to combat terrorism."

They also maintained the earlier presented opposing views on the fate of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Peskov said Putin underlined that Russia's door is open and that Moscow is ready to cooperate with partners.

Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the terrorist attacks in Paris, as well as for the destruction of a Russian passenger plane in Egypt on October 31.

It was also announced in Moscow on Friday that President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan had asked for a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Paris on November 30.

"The proposal of the Turkish side about the meeting at the level of heads of state was sent to the president. That's all I can say," Peskov told journalists, according to Reuters.

Putin and Erdogan will both be in Paris on November 30 for a global summit on climate change.
